Building Blocks of Braille

Building Blocks of Braille – A Nostalgic Twist on Learning

This artwork is part of my Building Blocks of Braille series, inspired by the nostalgic joy of childhood stacking toys and the simple magic of learning the ABCs. Just like building towers with colourful blocks as a child, these pieces use braille as the foundation for constructing language, communication, and play.

Each block is colour-coded, bringing braille to life through visual association. Whether spelling out whole sentences or exploring the alphabet from A to Z, these building blocks transform braille into something playful, accessible, and deeply creative.

The vibrant pyramid structures echo the ways we once learned letters and words — stacking them together to form meaning. In this series, braille isn’t just a code for reading, but a building material for imagination, nostalgia, and connection.
